Our mission as a church is sharing Christ through a caring church for a changing world.
Sharing Christ – God sent His son as an expression of His love to save us from our sin. This is not a secret, but a message that we seek to share with others as we invite them to come follow Christ as a part of our church family.
Caring Church – We want every person to have a personal relationship with God through Christ. We believe that relationships with other believers help us to grow spiritually as we encourage and express loving care for one another.
Changing World – Our world is changing every day. Our faith in God and our dependence upon Holy Scriptures for our direction does not change. In these changing times, it is our desire to use innovative and creative ways to reach the contemporary world with the never changing Gospel message.
Our Purpose
Our purpose as a church is to honor God through worship and fellowship, to communicate Christ’s message and to prepare members to demonstrate God’s love.
We exist as a church to provide worship opportunities that honor God. We desire to strengthen the bonds of Christian fellowship which enriches the sense of Christian community. It is our aim to communicate the message of the Bible and to help us to become responsible followers and obedient disciples of Jesus Christ. We seek to demonstrate God’s love in the church, community, and world at-large through our words and actions. For that purpose, we have teams composed of members of our church devoted to helping us organize our church ministry in these areas: worship, fellowship, evangelism, discipleship, and ministry. A sixth team, the administrative support team, serves to assist our church to coordinate the work of these leadership teams.
Our History
Haddock Baptist Church was founded in April 1907 in the community of Haddock, Georgia. The church is still located in the same locale, while many of today’s members come from adjacent cities and towns. In the past forty years the church has had only five pastors lending stability to the church. We have staff members working in education and children, student ministries, and music along with a strong core of volunteer lay leaders, which adds to the strength of our church family.
